World Health Organization (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of National Professional Officer in Conakry, Guinea. The duration of this post is 2 years.
The primary role of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system.

Responsibilities
The National Professional Officer will perform the following-
-Support the development of the various plans (annual plan, preparedness plan and response to an epidemic poliomyelitis, plan for transmission of Polio assets).
-Support active surveillance activities of AFP including strengthening and evaluation of polio environmental monitoring.
-Provide support for the coordination of surveillance and monitoring of polio laboratory activities to ensure the timely availability of laboratory results and provide feedback to the Ministry of HealthL.
-Provide support for regular risk analysis at the district, regional and national levels, and implementation of activities to reduce risk.
-Support capacity building in active surveillance of PFAs of central level teams, regions and prefectures / health districts.
-Ensure follow-up and supervision of national teams, national and international consultants (polio AVS supervisors, STOP, national surveillance focal points) deployed in the field.
Eligibility
Applicants must have-
-University degree in medicine or public health or a related field.
-Master’s in Public Health or Epidemiology or other related field from an internationally recognized university.
-At least 5 years of relevant country-level work experience in surveillance programs and vaccine-preventable disease data management, including demonstrated experience in environmental monitoring.
