United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Child Protection Officer in ElFasher, Sudan.

Responsibilities
The Child Protection Officer will perform the following functions-
-Contribute to the strengthening of existing monitoring and reporting mechanisms by improving data collection and analysis on grave violations against children in Darfur, Blue Nile, south Kordofan and Abeyei and other information of child rights violations.
-Provide technical assistance and capacity building to UN teams and the child protection sub-sector in strengthening the systems used in collecting and analyzing child protection information.
-Ensure effective use of information by UNICEF and its partners for evidence based decision making on child protection issues in Darfur and the 3 Areas.
-Provide technical support to emergency response in the conflict affected states including the release and reintegration of children from armed forces/groups.
-Provide technical support to the country programme on mainstreaming child protection in other sectors and support the integrated approach for child protection programme.

Requirements
Applicants must have-
-University degree on social science other related field, human rights or in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information management with field experience on child protection.
-2-3 years professional work experience in database development and administration, including data collection and analysis. Work experience in child protection work and MRM specifically is essential.
-Experience at the community level, including programming for vulnerable conflict affected children into communities.
-Fluency in English and another UN language required.
-Knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
