UK Funding Organization Comes To An End

Published

on

The UK Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities had initially advertised £42m over two years to tackle economic inactivity, but it appears that more money may now be available.

Despite this, it is still expected that the new scheme will be oversubscribed.

The CEO of the Derry Youth and Community Workshop, Declan Doherty, has expressed his disappointment with the situation, stating that he has “no hope whatsoever” that the replacement funding will be enough to keep his staff in work. It is distressing to hear that 25 of his staff members may lose their jobs.

Organizations that provide essential services to their communities, such as youth and community workshops, are vital for the wellbeing and development of the people they serve. It is important for governments to prioritize support for these organizations to ensure that they can continue to provide their services and support their staff.
