Trump calls to question the nationality of Kamala Harris

Former U.S president Donald Trump is calling on Americans to ask the all important question about Vice President and current Democratic Party’s Presidential Candidate, Kamala Harris; Is she American or Indian?

In a contentious appearance before the National Association of Black Journalists, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stirred controversy with remarks questioning Vice President Kamala Harris’s racial identity. Addressing a crowd of about 1,000, Trump claimed Harris had only recently “turned Black,” sparking a mix of jeers and disbelief.

“She was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was Black, until a number of years ago, when she happened to turn Black,” Trump stated, seemingly oblivious to Harris’s well-documented background as both Black and Asian.

Responding to Trump’s remarks, Harris addressed members of the historically Black sorority Sigma Gamma Rho in Houston, denouncing the former president’s divisive rhetoric. “It’s the same old show of divisiveness and disrespect,” she remarked, emphasizing that “the American people deserve better.”

The incident underscores ongoing challenges in American politics, where issues of race and identity continue to provoke heated debates. As Harris continues her campaign, she faces not only policy scrutiny but also a barrage of attacks on her racial and cultural identity, highlighting a broader societal struggle with diversity and representation.
