Tribunal Verdict: We believe in Nigeria’s mandate — Ajuri Ngelale

Spokesman to Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale has given Nigerians the hint of the atmosphere over at the Tinubu camp ahead of the Tribunal ruling.

According to Ajuri Ngelale, the President stands firm in the believe of the mandate given to him by the Nigerian Electorates following the February polls some months back.

The spokesman of the President asserts that the former Lagos State governor is not worried about the possibility of the tribunal verdict going against him,

Ajuri Ngelale addressed this while on Channels Television on Monday, stating that the President sees no need to coerce the judicial officers regarding the election petition.

The election tribunal is set to deliver its judgement on the petitions challenging Tinubu’s victory in the February polls on September 6.

Bola Tinubu’s victory stands under contention by the Labour Party’s Peter Obi, Peoples Democratic Party’s Abubakar Atiku and the Allied Peoples Movement.

Addressing the optimism in Tinubu’s camp, Ajuri Ngelale said;

“Unlike some political gladiators in the country, the President sees no need to threaten judicial officers,” he said.

“He sees no need to raise speculations against the integrity of judicial officers. He believes in the sanctity and integrity of the Nigerian judicial system.

“As a result of his confidence and faith in the judiciary, he believes that the mandate which Nigerians freely gave to him during the elections would stand. That is the position of the President.

“He will continue to ensure that no matter what the outcome of the judgment is, he does his part and ensures that our institutions continue to be respected, not just by him, but by all actors.

“He is not worried because he knows he won the election. We believe that we have presented the best case and the evidence is on our side,” he said.
