Transfer: "What we are looking to do" -- Arne Slot

Everything so far at Liverpool, has been tight lipped on the transfer front with the Reds yet to make any move for a player despite having a new head coach, Arne Slot leading the charge.

Hence, the Merseyside club has been prone to speculations from the media and even panic from fans who suggest the club is headed for yet another familiar trajectory they have always been known for — failing to act in the transfer market until it becomes too late.

However, the current boss leading the team, Arne Slot takes to the center stage to quell fans panic and assure media narratives that it is only a matter of time before everyone gets the news they are looking for.

Problems still linger in Liverpool despite 3-0 win over United

Speaking about the club’s silence so far, the Dutchman defends the club’s hierarchy and policies in a recent interview, saying; “A club like Liverpool always keeps its eye open to see what’s available, Richard is working hard…,”

The former Feyenoord head coach goes on to stress that the problem does not necessarily lie on the position as per current rumors that suggests the Reds are looking to strengthen in Defence, in Midfield or its forward lines as links point to Liverpool conducting business with Newcastle United. Slot, in analyzing what the club are aiming towards, said;

“It’s about players that can strengthen the squad, that’s what we are looking to do… not particular to one position.”

This is of course can be seen as a political statement to either deviate attention from the possibility of Liverpool not making any summer transfer in the current window or stalling on what the real agenda is for the season. After all, former Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp not once nor twice could be heard repeating these lines during his time as Reds boss.
