Transfer News: Thierry Henry Sends Message To Mesut Ozil Following Sanchez’s Exit From Arsenal

Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, has told midfielder, Mesut Ozil to make the team his own following Alexis Sanchez‘s departure.

Sanchez joined Manchester United earlier this week in a deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head in the opposite direction to north London.

Henry was accused of having motivated Sanchez’s move to Manchester United,  a claim the former Gunners’ striker denied.

The Chilean has however, clarified the comments, saying that Henry did not tell him to join the Red Devils.

There were fears that the Chilean international’s departure could impact Arsenal’s players in their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Chelsea on Wednesday night but Arsene Wenger’s men beat their London rivals 2-1 at the Emirates to set up a final with Manchester city at Wembley on February 25.

Asked about Sanchez’s move ahead of the win, Sky Sports pundit Henry said, “He [Ozil] has to make it his team.

“Alexis Sanchez is gone. If he plays all the time like he did against Crystal Palace, he’s unplayable.”

Wenger admitted that “uncertainty” in Arsenal’s dressing room has disappeared following Sanchez’s Old Trafford move.

“Uncertainty [has gone],’ Wenger said following the defeat of Chelsea.

“We lost a great player, but of course it’s true that when the team doesn’t know what’s going on, there’s less clarity and less focus on performances.

“Now we know that we have to deal with that and we can get on by giving everyone a little bit more.”
