Chelsea goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois is awaiting the green light from coach, Zinedine Zidane before finalising a move to Real Madrid, Spanish outlet, Don Balon reports.

According to the report, The LaLiga champion’s recent failure to sign goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao has put a deal for Courtois back in the frame.

The Belgium international has been linked with a move to the Los Blancos for months amid uncertainty surrounding his future at Chelsea.

The 25-year-old is yet to pen a new deal with the Premier league champions and has admitted he has considered a return to Spain.

The former Atletico Madrid shot stopper admitted in the past that he would also be moving closer to his young family by joining Real, which he has admitted in the past is a huge factor in determining his future.

“It is not always easy [being away from his children].” Courtois said.

“I love my children to death. When you miss them, you are sometimes wondering, ‘Shouldn’t I play in Spain in the next few years?’

“That’s why I want to take my time to make a decision on that contract extension.”

Courtois’ current deal at the Blues will end in 2019 and he has previously admitted it will be a case of ‘when’ not ‘if’ he returns to Spain.

“Everybody knows that due to my personal situation Spain attracts me. If it is not now, it will be in a few years,” he added.
