Transfer: Are Chelsea about to lose a very vital player?
Conor Gallagher is one Chelsea player whose future remains uncertain at Stamford Bridge despite England international being a vital piece in the Blues midfield. However, since the summer and even prior to the summer transfer window opening, rumors has swirled around a potential exit from West London ahead of next season.
Now, according to a new report by established journalist, Fabrizio Romano, La Liga side, Atletico Madrid holds a certain admiration for the Englishman, and in Romano’s own words, ‘dream of poaching Conor Gallagher as a top target for their midfield.
The Chelsea midfield ever since coming up the ranks of the Blues’ academy and plying his trade on loan at Crystal Palace, has raised his stocks high to inherit a leading status in the middle of the line for the blues.

However, the West-London side are reportedly forced to pathways with Gallagher, with chains tied behind their backs due to Financial Fair Play regulations.
Rumored parties interested in the 24-year-old are Tottenham Hotspur for now and Atletico Madrid as per Fabrizio Romano. But if Romano’s words are any consolation of sorts to Chelsea fans, the deal may not come in easy for Atletico due to the high price on Gallagher.
However, Romano insists it won’t hinder any contacts the La Liga side keeps with the Blues as Conor Gallagher remains a main target for them. Chelsea though, still hold an upper hand as the deal depends on the West-London sides’ valuation of the 24-year-old.
The initial £50m price is considered still excessive for Atlético Madrid who hold on to hope of it dropping so talks can advance for a move to the Wanda Metropolitano.
