ASUU warns Federal Govt over looming university strike
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has raised concerns, warning that any looming strike in Nigeria’s public universities should be blamed on the Federal Government.
In a statement signed by Dr. Salim Ahmad, the ASUU Chairman of Federal University Dutse (FUD), the union expressed frustration over unresolved issues that have caused years of instability in the country’s higher education system. Read more here.
FG distributes 64 CNG buses to cut transport costs
The Federal Government has handed over 64 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses, each with a 100-seat capacity, to organised labour and student union leaders in a bid to alleviate transportation costs following the removal of fuel subsidies.

October 1 protest will hold at Eagle Square, Lagos – Organisers to Police
The people planning the #FearlessOctober1 protest have said that the police, the Department of State Services, and the troops will not stop them from holding the event as planned.
The organizers have also written to Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police, to ask for protection at the protest. They said that protesting is a basic right and they would not give up that right to any government official. Read more here.
