Top industry experts and professionals are set to attend the 2024 National Advertising Conference (NAC), scheduled to take place in Abuja.

Topnaija.ng reports that the conference, organized by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), will feature key figures such as Dr. John Momoh, Chairman of Channels Media Group; Dr. Tayo Aduloju, CEO of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG); and Mr. Seni Adetu, GCEO of First Primus West Africa.

The event, slated for November 13th to 15th at the Continental Hotel, will open with a fireside chat led by Dr. Momoh.

Mr. Adetu will address the topic of industry consolidation, while Dr. Aduloju will provide insights into the dynamic Nigerian economy.

Speaking at a media briefing, Chairman of the Organising Committee for NAC, Mr. Tunji Adeyinka, highlighted the CMO Forum as one of the key attractions. The forum will feature Adebola Williams from Promasidor, Morolake Emokpaire from Mondelez, and Kemi Longe from PZ, with Eyitayo Olayemi, host of the podcast “Diary of a CMO,” moderating the session.

Other plenaries will explore topics such as the myths and realities of generative AI, marketing trends, technology, and youth culture. A total of 21 sessions are planned for this year’s conference. The event will culminate with a Gala Dinner on the final day.

With the theme “Navigating the Shifts: Technology, Culture, and New Business Models,” the conference aims to address the pressing issues facing Nigeria’s advertising industry. According to a recent PwC study, the sector is projected to grow from N605.2 billion in 2023 to N893 billion by 2028, despite ongoing economic challenges.

“The year 2024 has brought significant shifts in the economy and our industry,” Adeyinka explained. “With the devaluation of the naira, the industry must explore new growth strategies within the current context.”

The conference comes at a time when Nigeria’s GDP growth increased to 2.98% in Q1 2024, up from 2.31% in Q1 2023. However, inflation has surged from 22.41% in May 2023 to 33.95% in May 2024, driven by rising costs in food, utilities, and transportation.

“This is perhaps our most ambitious conference yet in terms of scope and reach,” Adeyinka added. “We have sessions for practitioners across different sectors and regions in Nigeria. In summary, the NAC offers engaging discussions, networking opportunities, and a chance for professionals to earn credit points.”
