  1. Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has spoken for the first time, since he resurfaced in Jerusalem, Israel.

In a broadcast on Sunday evening, Kanu vowed not to return to the Federal High Court in Abuja, where  was standing trial before he left the country.

  1. The abducted wife of the Chief of Adara in Kachia Local Government, Kaduna State, Mrs. Victoria Galadima, has been released.

Confirming her release, Kaduna Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo said the woman was set free in the early hours of Sunday.

  1. Soldiers on Sunday took over the streets of Kaduna metropolis, after protests broke out in some parts of the state.

In quick response, the Kaduna State Government announced a 24-hour curfew to prevent the protesters from unleashing mayhem on innocent citizens.

  1. Former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Idris Legho Kutigi, is dead.

The Niger State Commissioner for Information, Danjuma Sallau, said Kutigi died in a London Hospital at the age of 78.

  1. The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Ibrahim Idris has ordered the deployment of Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, Zone 7, Taiwo Lakanu, to lead Police Special Intervention Force in Kaduna State for the restoration of peace in the state.

DCP Jimoh Moshood in a statement said Lakanu is to restore lasting peace to Kasuwar Magani area in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

  1. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Sunday said 12 farmers were killed and 1,300 others displaced in separate attacks coordinated by the Boko Haram insurgents in Borno.

Mr Bashir Garga, NEMA’s Northeast Zonal Coordinator, said the insurgents hacked 12 farmers to death while working on their fields on Saturday afternoon at Kalle village, 17 kilometres away from Maiduguri.

  1. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has named 22 witnesses to testify against former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose.

The anti-graft agency named Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Alex Otti, as well as the Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank amongst others as key witnesses.

  1. The All Progressives Congress, APC, has expelled a former Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Barr. Onyemuche Nnamani from the party.

The Enugu State chairman of the party, Dr. Ben Nwoye, who announced the suspension, accused Onyemuche of contravening article 21 of the APC Constitution.

  1. Shehu Sani, the senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, on Sunday, disclosed that he would contest the forthcoming election despite resigning from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He, however, did not disclose his next choice of party, promising to reveal that in the next two days.
