Todd Boehly ready to pay Barkley to leave Chelsea immediately
Chelsea attacking midfielder, Ross Barkley hasn’t quite had the dream spell he hoped for at Stamford Bridge, with the former Everton player failing to impress at the club.
The 28 year old left Merseyside in 2018 for fee of £15m and since then has failed to make any significant impact with the Blues, scoring just 12 goals across 100 appearances for the club.
Ross Barkley saw a loan move to Aston Villa boost his confidence, with the player putting up stellar performances that convinced Chelsea to retain him for last season’s games.
It appears his Chelsea story may be coming to an end as reports state Chelsea owner, Todd Boehly will be willing to let the player leave and has even decided to pay Ross Barkley to leave Stamford Bridge.
The news comes courtesy of The Sun in response to the midfielder not having featured for the Blues this season.
Chelsea will be looking to replace him with current Everton player, Anthony Gordon, with the Blues willing to terminate Barkley’s contract to free up space in the squad.
Barkley has one year left in his current Chelsea contract, with the player reportedly earning £200k a week on his current deal.
The former Aston Villa player was last seen taking part in Chelsea’s pre-season tour last month specifically against Arsenal.
