Graham Potter Sacked: A new dawn sets on Chelsea

Italian Sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano comes out with the latest scoop on Todd Boehly’s Chelsea regarding the situation Graham Potter faces following Aston Villa defeat at Stamford Bridge.

The Chelsea manager, Graham Potter is reportedly under pressure following the club’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday. The loss leaves the Blues in 11th place on the Premier League table, with some questioning Potter’s ability to lead the team to success.

The pressure on Potter has led to speculation that the club may be considering a replacement. According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is considering former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann, who was recently sacked by the German club.

Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Pressure again on Graham Potter after the board always supported & backed him — now Chelsea drops out of PL top half. Understand Julian Nagelsmann has always been appreciated by Chelsea as a future top coach, one to watch.”

Nagelsmann is considered one of the brightest young coaches in football and has been linked with several top jobs in recent years. He led RB Leipzig to the semi-finals of the Champions League in the 2019-20 season and won the DFB-Pokal with Bayern Munich last season before his departure.

While there has been no official confirmation of any interest from Chelsea in Nagelsmann, the club’s recent form has raised concerns among fans and experts alike. Chelsea have only won three of their last ten Premier League matches, with defeats to Aston Villa, Manchester United and Liverpool denting their title hopes.

Potter, who joined Chelsea in the summer from Brighton, has faced criticism in recent weeks for his tactics and team selection. However, the club’s board has publicly backed him, with owner Roman Abramovich reportedly keen to give the young manager time to build his team.
