Former Bayern Munich manager, Thomas Tuchel is reported to have engaged in a clandestine meeting with Manchester United minority co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe in Monaco, fueling speculation about Erik ten Hag’s future at the club.

Despite United’s triumphant 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final last month, doubts about Ten Hag’s position persist. The Guardian previously reported that Ten Hag would be dismissed regardless of the FA Cup result, but this prediction has yet to materialize.

The Athletic confirmed that Ratcliffe and INEOS plan to conduct an end-of-season review before making any final decisions on Ten Hag’s tenure.

During the meeting, Tuchel proposed solutions for United’s ‘sporting problems,’ specifically mentioning Jadon Sancho and Mason Mount. Sancho, currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund following a fallout with Ten Hag, was a focal point of Tuchel’s plans.

Additionally, Tuchel cited his successful management of Antonio Rudiger at Chelsea, noting Rudiger’s subsequent Champions League victory with Real Madrid.

Tuchel Withdraws from Contention: Despite the intriguing discussions, football insider Fabrizio Romano reported that Tuchel has opted not to pursue the Manchester United managerial role.
