Thomas Tuchel hasn’t gotten over Petr Cech leaving

There is no debating the influence former Chelsea goalkeeper and legend, Petr Cech had on Chelsea, both as a player or an ambassador, atleast not according to current manager, Thomas Tuchel.

The German in a recent interview while admitting his satisfaction with how the club was conducting its transfer business, admitted he still hasn’t gotten over Petr Cech leaving.

The Czech republican’s exit followed Todd Boehly’s purchase of the Premier League club by Roman Abramovich, with Cech leaving the Blues earlier in the summer just shortly after the end of last season.

Petr Cech’s exit from the club followed many other high profile exits from the club, like its players, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Timo Werner and the long serving transfer director, Marina Granovskaia.

Perhaps the exits may have explained Thomas Tuchel’s frustration during a pre-season press conference shortly after the defeat to Arsenal.

The former Paris Saint German boss revealing his struggles initially due to the absence of Petr Cech’s calming press said:

“I still think we are in transition with a new ownership.

“Petr Cech out who was also such a big key factor, also for me in the season in the building here in Cobham, speaking with everybody and the staff and being a huge support for me.

“He’s not here any more so there are some changes. We are positive but we are a bit in transition so we are excited but it comes pretty early (the season),” Tuchel said while speaking to Soccer AM when asked to analyze Chelsea’s pre-season and summer campaign.
