“This matter is over” — Neymar’s Father on Dani Alves
Neymar Sr., the father of renowned Brazilian footballer Neymar Jr., has declared that his family will not contribute the €1 million bail required to secure the release of Dani Alves from a Spanish prison.
Dani Alves, a former teammate of Neymar Jr. from their days at Barcelona, is currently incarcerated pending the outcome of his appeal against a rape conviction.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Neymar Sr. expressed that while his family extended financial support to Alves during his trial, they have resolved not to do so again.
“For us, for my family, this matter is over. Full stop,” he emphasized.
However, Neymar’s father did not disclose the exact amount they had provided to Alves.
The 40-year-old Alves was handed a four-year, six-month prison sentence after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman at a nightclub in Barcelona in 2022.
