They weren't Men enough -- Simon Jordan

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has criticized Arsenal’s performance against Manchester City, saying that he was disappointed that the game did not live up to the hype as a clash of title-chasing titans.

During a talk on talkSPORT, Jordan expressed his disappointment that the game ended up as a one-sided affair with a “gulf in class” between the two teams. Manchester City convincingly defeated Arsenal with a 4-1 victory on Wednesday, keeping alive their chances of winning the Premier League trophy.

Kevin De Bruyne scored two goals, while John Stones and Erling Haaland each scored a goal to secure the win for Pep Guardiola’s team. Jordan took aim at Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta’s side, saying that they looked average, and it was not the Arsenal that they have been seeing for the past eight months.

“It was men against boys to some extent,” Jordan commented on the show. He added that an 8-0 scoreline wouldn’t have been an unfair reflection of Manchester City’s dominance over Arsenal.

The result means that Manchester City has moved up to the second position in the Premier League table, two points behind league leaders Arsenal with a game in hand.

The victory over Arsenal is Manchester City’s 11th consecutive win in all competitions. Guardiola’s team has now scored 47 goals in their last 15 games, while only conceding five.

This dominant run of form puts them in a strong position to win the Premier League title for the third time in four years.
