They Were Harsh On Ole, Needed More Time—Ronaldo

Former Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is perhaps the only manager who coached superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo in Manchester United that was particularly free from criticisms in the former Real Madrid star’s interview on Piers Morgan uncensored.

The Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo criticized the club for dismissing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer too soon, believing the Norwegian was not given the opportunity and time he needed for the job before bringing in Ralf Ragnick.

The 37-year-old indicated in the most recent segment of his interview with Piers Morgan, which was made public on Wednesday, that it would never be easy to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ronaldo continued by calling Solskjaer “a top person.”

It is quite interesting that despite criticisms from a number of Man United fan base on Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s time at Old Trafford, the Norwegian gets the backing and defense from Cristiano Ronaldo.

He said:

“I love Solskjaer. I think he was a top person, because what I keep inside my heart, it’s the heart of the persons. And Ole for me, is a top person.

“It’s hard to assume [the role] after Sir Alex Ferguson, but I think he did a good job for sure.

“You need much more time. I never doubt that [he is] going to be a good coach in the future.”

In December 2021, Solskjaer was fired by United despite agreeing to a new three-year contract in July 2021 with the Norwegian manager.

After supervising five losses in seven Premier League games, the ex-Manchester United boss was let go. The period could vividly be remembered as a time rival fans rallied in support of the Manchester United manager as opposed to what the global fan base of Manchester United felt of Ole.

It is however different in the moment considering the current manager, Erik ten Hag doesn’t receive same backing from Ronaldo even though he gets the applause from the large United fan base.
