They are begging me to be their Candidate—Moghalu

Former presidential aspirant of the African Democratic Congress, Kingsley Moghalu has revealed a number of political parties are itchy to have him be their candidate for the 2023 elections.

Writing via his twitter handle on Thursday, the politician revealed that a few others have requested him to be the running mate to their candidate also.

Acknowledging how honored and humbled he felt to be wanted as a candidate, Moghalu maintains his resolve to stay clear of the 2023 elections.

He however promised to continue serving to the best interests of Nigeria in whichever way he is needed by the country.

He wrote:

“I am truly honored and grateful to all the Nigerian political parties that have approached and offered me the opportunity to be their presidential candidate or otherwise be on their presidential tickets for the 2023 election. It is truly humbling to see the level of appreciation for my contributions to our country’s politics and nation-building.

“As difficult as it has been to respectfully decline all these offers, I am at peace with my decision upon serious reflection following resignation from my previous political party not to be on the ballot in 2023.”

It can be recalled that the former Central Bank vice governor had dumped the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after losing out in the party’s presidential ticket while also withdrew from the 2023 presidential race.

In a letter addressed to the National Chairman of the party, Okey Nwosu, Moghalu announced his decision to resign from the party.

The presidential ticket of the ADC was ultimately lost to Dumebi Kachikwu, founder of Roots Television and son to Ibe Kachikwu.
