The Weeknd has broken a new record on Spotify as the first artist to ever hit over 100 million monthly listeners on the platform.

This achievement comes just days after the release of his remix of the song “Die for You” with Ariana Grande, which has already become a fan favorite.

Spotify confirmed the news on Monday, revealing that The Weeknd is leading the pack with 100 million listeners, surpassing other top artists like Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, and Drake.

This isn’t the first time The Weeknd has collaborated with Grande. The remix of “Die for You” marks their fourth collaboration on a song.

The Weeknd’s achievement on Spotify comes hot on the heels of his televised concert, “Live at SoFi Stadium,” which was filmed during one of his sold-out shows in Los Angeles.

The Canadian singer has won four Grammy Awards, 20 Billboard Music Awards, and has even been nominated for an Oscar and an Emmy throughout his career.

In 2021, The Weeknd’s hit single “Blinding Lights” made history by becoming the first song to stay in the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 for an entire year. It had previously set a record by staying in the Top 5 for 43 weeks.

The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, has proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. His fans eagerly anticipate what he will do next, and his continued success is sure to inspire young artists and musicians all over the world.
