Each to their own opinion, West Ham midfielder, Declan Rice says as he counters critics of Premier League player who is widely regarded as a flop as the toughest he has ever faced in opposition.
The player while speaking in a YouTube show on Golf Life with Tubes and Ange’s, the widely rated midfielder was asked who he considered his most difficult opponent.
Contrary to popular opinion, the West Ham player pointed at Tottenham’s midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele who is regarded as a flop as the toughest he has ever played against.
Rice who himself is an established player in the English Premier League and in the England squad, following 5 seasons in the top flight, explains his reasoning of Ndombele being the toughest he has ever faced.
As quoted by HITC Sport, he explained:
“This one will surprise you. He gets slammed and hammered a little bit. It is going to take you back, but Ndombele, who was Spurs.
“The perception of him, it should not be what it is because I tell you now, he is one of the toughest I have played against.” Declan rice defends while explaining how underrated he felt the Tottenham Hotspur player was.
The England star has made 167 league appearances in the Premier League with West Ham so far, while Tanguy Ndombele arrived at Spurs in 2019 for £53.8 million from Lyon under Jose Mourinho.
