"The referee was not fair to us" — Pedri on Barcelona defeat

Barcelona midfielder Pedri did not hold back after La Blaugrana suffered their first La Liga defeat of the season, losing 4-2 to Osasuna.

The Spaniard fired shots at match officials, blaming controversial decisions for Barca’s stunning collapse under new manager Hansi Flick.

Pedri pointed out what he believed were game-changing errors, including the referee’s failure to award a penalty on Lamine Yamal and a questionable foul on Pau Victor before Osasuna’s second goal.

“There was a very clear foul on Pau Victor (before their second goal) and there was a very clear penalty on Lamine.”

The Spanish midfielder went on to vent his anger on the referee, saying;

“There was a very clear penalty and a foul. The referee has not been fair to us.”

Barcelona fans are already buzzing with debates, but Pedri’s accusations add even more heat to what could be an early-season turning point for the defending champions.

The Catalans had built themselves a 4-point lead at the top of the La Liga table after going on a winning-streak. The defeat to Osasuna gifts their closest rivals, Real Madrid a chance to mount a comeback into a title charge.
