"The real reason I moved to Nigeria" — Adunni Ade

Nollywood star Adunni Ade recently opened up about the pivotal role veteran actor Ramsey Nouah played in her journey to becoming one of Nollywood’s leading actresses.

During an interview on Hip TV’s Trending, Ade revealed that she was once a successful model in the United States, but a life-changing conversation with Nouah in 2011 inspired her to move back to Nigeria and pursue her passion for acting.

Ade shared that she met Nouah before relocating and confided in him about her aspirations. His advice gave her the “confirmation” she needed to take the leap of faith. “He gave me a very good pep talk, and I moved down to Nigeria,” she said, recalling the emotional impact of the encounter.

Despite her admiration for Nouah, it wasn’t until years later that Ade finally had the opportunity to work alongside him. She recalled seeing him at a film festival and exchanging pleasantries as usual, not knowing that their next meeting would take place on set.

“The next day, I got a call from producer Chris… and he said, ‘Adunni, what did you give Ramsey to eat? Ramsey just cast you,’” she said, recalling her excitement.

Since then, Adunni Ade has had the privilege of working with Nouah on multiple projects, both as a director and co-actor, describing him as “a phenomenal human being.”

The actress expressed admiration for his professionalism, versatility, and work ethic, qualities that continue to inspire her.

Adunni Ade’s bold decision to follow her dreams in Nollywood has paid off tremendously, with her first major role in 2013’s You or I setting the stage for a career that has seen her star in over 250 films. Ade credits Ramsey Nouah’s influence for helping her realize her full potential, making her one of Nollywood’s most recognizable faces today.
