The Note Rodrigo De Paul left For Lionel Messi Before Qatar

Why Lionel Messi Is Yet to Return to PSG

In Argentina’s training camp, Rodrigo de Paul left a note for Lionel Messi in his room, and the midfielder read it carefully.

People were prepared to claim that everything that occurred during the World Cup was planned so that Messi would finally take home the one award that had escaped him.

The Portuguese team was sure that FIFA wanted to award the trophy to the Argentina star since they had lost to Morocco.

Given that they weren’t even in the same side of the draw and would have had to beat France, the current world champions, just to advance to the final that seemed like a bit of a stretch.

Lionel Messi also delivered, scoring in each of the tournament’s knockout rounds and becoming the first player to accomplish it in a single World Cup after failing to score past the group stages in his prior outings.

He played a crucial role in each of those games, and he did so again in the world cup game, scoring once during regular play, once during extra time, and then converting Argentina’s first penalty in the shootout.

Not that they meant it in a bad sense, but not just the Portugal players believed that the trophy belonged to the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.

During Argentina’s training camp in September, Messi’s teammate Rodrigo de Paul actually wrote a message in the forward’s room predicting the team will win the world championship.

The Atletico Madrid player’s writing his phone number on the paper is the greatest part of it, just in case the Paris Saint-Germain player doesn’t recognize him.

The Albicelestes were playing international friendlies against Honduras and Jamaica as they were in the middle of their World Cup preparations.

They were nearing the end of their remarkable 36-game winning streak, with just a warm-up match against the United Arab Emirates remaining.

Saudi Arabia put a halt to that streak in their opening group game in Qatar, a significant victory for the Middle Eastern team.

It caused a ton of problems for Lionel Scaloni’s team since after that, every game was virtually a knockout match because losing to Mexico or Poland would have meant elimination.

Rodrigo de Paul was crucial in midfield even if his more famous teammate had a more attention-grabbing campaign.

The former Udinese player ran a lot in the middle of the field and was fouled frequently by France players throughout the world cup final.
