The Most Decisive Player — Carlo Ancelotti On Real Madrid Star
Real Madrid’s manager Carlo Ancelotti has hailed Vinicius Jr. as the ‘most decisive player in world football’ following his impressive performance in the Champions League round of 16 first-leg encounter against Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old Brazilian forward played a pivotal role in his side’s 5-2 win, scoring two goals in the first half to help his team take a commanding lead before half-time.
After the game, Ancelotti spoke to the press and was full of praise for his young star.
“Today, in my personal opinion, he [Vinicius] is the most decisive player in world football,” the Italian said.
“For his continuity, he doesn’t stop, dribbles, assists, or goals. Now he is the most decisive. Hopefully, he can continue like this.”
Vinicius has been in excellent form this season, having already scored 12 goals in all competitions for Real Madrid.
His performances have helped the Spanish giants to climb to the top of the La Liga table and secure a place in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey.
The Brazilian’s rise to prominence this season has not gone unnoticed, and he has been linked with a move to several top European clubs, including Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Manchester United.
Real Madrid will be hoping that Vinicius can continue his good form when they face Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie next week at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano. The Spanish giants hold a commanding lead and will be looking to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time since the 2017/18 season.
