The Manchester City raid is one an Arsenal legend is Proud of
With a few Manchester City players exiting the club this summer, and two already on the way to Arsenal, Gunners legend, Ray Parlour couldn’t be more prouder.
After all, Manchester City you would believe have done quite enough harm than good to the competitive spirit of the Premier League.
According to Ray Parlour, he sees the signing of City’s left-back and Ukrainian, Oleksandr Zinchenko as a good bargain.
Arsenal are believed to have agreed a deal to sign the City player for a fee of £32m with no reported issues on agreeing personal terms with the player stalling.
If all goes according to the Gunners’ plans, the Ukraine international will become an Arsenal player sooner before the season begins.
Zinchenko was recently in Texas with the Manchester City team but is believed to have flown straight to link up with the Gunners in Orlando to continue pre-season schedule.
After making 128 appearances for Manchester City in every competition in a 6 year stint at the Etihad, winning medals along the way, the player sets out for a new chapter along with fellow Cityzen, Gabriel Jesus.
Pep Guardiola, Manchester City manager has played the Ukrainian in a number of positions including in midfield and in a back 4 defence, but it is unclear where Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta intends playing him.
“That would be a great move.” Ray Parlour said.
“We need a bit of cover on that left-hand side. Zinchenko, he can play different positions as well, so that would be a fantastic signing if they can get him over the line,” He added while speaking to Sky Sports.
Zinchenko will become the third playing leaving Manchester City for a London club over this summer, with Gabriel Jesus moving to the Gunners and Raheem Sterling for the blue side of London; Chelsea.
