"The Hunger protests are being sponsored" -- Akpabio

It’s all a lie, Nigeria’s Senate President Godswill Akpabio insinuates as Nigerians take to the streets in protest.

The government continues to twist the narratives despite the glaring situation of Nigeria’s dwindling economy, and according to the sitting Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, Nigerians crying out for help are only manufactured tears.

There is no hunger in the land, just what the opposition wants people to believe, Godswill Akpabio asserts as he criticizes the ongoing demonstrations by civilians.

In a recent session of the Senate held on February 20, Senate President Godswill Akpabio made a striking assertion regarding the ongoing protests concerning the prevailing economic challenges in the country.

Akpabio, addressing his colleagues during plenary, voiced concerns over what he described as “sponsored protests”.

He suggested that many of these demonstrations were orchestrated by external forces, seemingly oblivious to the Senate’s efforts in addressing the situation.

“You can see a lot of sponsored protests here and there,” Akpabio remarked.

“Most of those sponsored protests are not aware of the kind of efforts being made by this Senate to tackle the situation.”

The Senate President went on to add, stating;

“There is no father that wants to see his child sleep in the night without food, with their stomach grumbling. So we must provide.”

The politician’s statement though insinuating the protests to be staged, however unwittingly confirms the issue Nigerians face.
