The disrespect shown to Mohamed Salah this season

Mohamed Salah has gone under the radar this season for a lot of reasons owing to Liverpool’s poor form and rival players performing so well this season that it seems Salah has so far been overshadowed. But therein lies the disrespect for the famous Egyptian whose number tally this season overshadows every forward in the league that isn’t Erling Haaland.

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah scored his 183rd goal for the club in their 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday, moving him level with Robbie Fowler on Liverpool’s all-time scoring list. The Egyptian King was decisive at Anfield, scoring the only goal of the second half to keep Liverpool’s Champions League qualification hopes alive.

Diogo Jota, who has been in good form recently, scored twice to give Liverpool the lead on two occasions, but Forest equalized both times through deflected strikes from Neco Williams and Morgan Gibbs-White.

With the scoreline at 2-2 and the home crowd getting restless, Mohamed Salah popped up with the winner in the 70th minute, steering home a Trent Alexander-Arnold free-kick in front of the Kop.

Salah’s 183 goals have come in just 298 matches, making him one of Liverpool’s all-time greats. He has also registered 69 assists and won every major trophy possible during his time at the club. At Leeds earlier this season, he became the Premier League’s all-time leading scorer of left-footed goals, surpassing Fowler’s record of 106.

Liverpool have struggled for consistency this season, but Salah has been a shining light, scoring 29 goals in all competitions so far. His goal on Saturday was crucial in securing three precious points for Liverpool as they look to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Salah’s ability to make history at Liverpool on an almost weekly basis is a testament to his greatness as a player. He has been a key figure in Liverpool’s success over the last six years, and with no signs of slowing down, he could continue to break records for years to come.
