Tension as Emirs Sanusi, Bayero announce to lead Jumaat Prayers in one mosque
When the two competing Emirs, the re-instated Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II and the dethroned Emir Aminu Ado Bayero, said they were going to pray Jumaat at the Palace Central Mosque, fear filled the old city of Kano.
TopNaija reports that already, Emir Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, who resides in the Palace, and is closer to the contending Mosque, is expected to lead the two rakat Friday prayers.
It was said in a release that as Amir of the City, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II has been leading the Jumaat Prayers at the Palace Central Mosque.
According to a statement written by Munir Sanusi Bayero, the new Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II was going to the mosque to lead the Jumaat prayers.
The message came out Thursday night.
In its message, Danburan asked people in Kano to come hear the sermon that the Emir, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, would be giving.
In a different statement, though, an official of the ousted Emir, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, asked people to join him for the Juma’at prayer at the Emir’s Palace Friday Mosque.
It said that the movement to the Emir’s Palace Mosque would begin at 12:30 pm.
But the cops haven’t said anything about the new development yet.
