Telegram expands Stars digital currency for paid content
Telegram has expanded the use of its digital currency, Stars, to include paid content and promotions.
Telegram Stars digital currency was initially launched last month for in-app digital goods, Stars can now be used by content creators to post content that users can unlock with the currency.
Additionally, channel owners can convert Stars to Toncoin, the cryptocurrency used by Telegram on The Open Network (TON) blockchain, or use them for discounts on channel promotions.

The conversion of Stars to Toncoin can be done through the Fragment platform, allowing channel owners to trade the cryptocurrency on various exchanges and transfer money to their bank accounts. Telegram has also been using this platform to auction usernames over the TON blockchain.
The latest update includes a Mini App bar for quick access to mini apps without reloading them. Users can now discover stories by tapping on hashtags or location tags to see all public stories with the same hashtag or from the same place.
In its effort to reach a billion active users and achieve profitability, Telegram has introduced numerous business-centric features this year.
These include options for small businesses to add location and opening hours, customized start pages, predefined greetings and away messages, and chatbot support for businesses.
