Teams Qualified For The Europa League Knockout Stages

With the confirmation that some Champions League big wigs will be demoted into the second tier competition of Europe that is the Europa League, this season’s edition might be just as equal to the Champions League in hype with the entry of Barcelona, Juventus, Ajax, and Atletico Madrid.

All that being said, there are some exciting teams within the competition who themselves have seen progression into the knock out stages of the tournament who could pose considerable threat to the former Champions League big wigs coming into the competition.

For the knockout stages of the Europa League, at least 10 teams have qualified.

This comes after the conclusion of the group matches that were played on Thursday night’s penultimate round.

PSV defeated Arsenal 2-0 in Eindhoven, and Manchester United advanced with a 3-0 victory over Sheriff Tiraspol.

United and PSV were joined by Ferencváros and Union SG in claiming the top two spots.

As group winners, Ferencváros, Freiburg, Real Betis, Real Sociedad, and Union SG all advance to the round of 16.
