Suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, is set to face the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, January 9th, following her suspension over an alleged N585 million cash transfer scandal.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu on Monday morning suspended the minister pending the conclusion of investigation into the alleged crime she committed.

Meanwhile, Edu’s predecessor, Sadiya Farouq, found herself under the EFCC investigation on Monday.

She was questioned about a separate N37.1 billion laundering allegation dating back to her time under former President Buhari.

As of Monday evening, about 6 pm, Farouq remained at the EFCC headquarters.
