IPOB/ESN members arrested in Ebonyi State

Police operatives acting on credible intelligence burst 39 suspected IPOB/ESN members at a meeting with a native doctor in the Agubia Ikwo.

The suspected IPOB/ESN members were meeting at Agubia Ikwo. At the resident of one Ebube Ivom ‘m’ age 31yrs, their suspected ESN/IPOB Sector Commander.

Their Cross River State-based native doctor (Ezemuo) was in attendance. He was invited to fortify members of the group with antidotes to bullets. They were preparing to attack Onueke Divisional Headquarters and INEC office both in Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The group have been responsible for a number of attacks and killings in Ebonyi. This includes the killing of a Police Inspector, 2 soldiers and 6 police men. They also confessed to burning several police stations, soldier checkpoints and INEC offices.
