Super Eagles Must Do All They Can Against Costa Rica—NFF

Just because it is a friendly, doesn’t mean it has to be friendly, NFF has instructed the Nigerian national team, Super Eagles as they set to face off against Costa Rica before the Qatar World Cup.

The game is set to be played with the home based Super Eagles team in preparation for Costa Rica going into the World Cup.

The Super Eagles have been instructed by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Ibrahim Gusau to give it their best in order to defeat Costa Rica.

On Thursday at the National Stadium in San Jose, a friendly match between the Super Eagles and the Americans will take place.

It will mark the initial senior-level encounter between the two nations.

The game will be used by Costa Rica, one of the 32 nations that will compete at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, as part of their preparations.

“It is pertinent for you to note that Nigerians are result-oriented and they want the team to always have a good outing in every match, friendly or competitive,” Gusau was quoted by thenff.com.

“It is a friendly game but at the same time, we want to win.”

The game will kick-off at 8 pm local time on Wednesday (3 am Thursday in Nigeria).
