It’s the D-Day yo!

The day I sing ’30billion for the akant‘ and mean it.

If you have not blow, you wee nur unsten!

Okay, enough with the hype. It’s the 11th of August, 2018. The date of the Success Stories Africa (#SSA18) event.

A wise man–I wouldn’t mention is name…because, well, I don’t know who said it first.

The wise man said, ‘You are the product of the meetings you attend.’ Which is why woke people were present, both in body and mind, at the #SSA18.

The event started with a nice rendition of the National Anthem by Fisayo.

The first speaker on the stage was the founder of Agribusiness Empowerment Initiative (NGO) and Co-Founder of FarmCrowdy, AfricanFarmer Mogaji.

He started his very profound, inspiring and practical session with his background story. He talked about how he came from a broke, unfocused kid to being the barnd ‘African Farmer’. He explained how easy it is for our generation to be wealthy and then talked about the opportunities that abound in the agric sector.

He ended his session with a magnanimous gesture. He offered to assist attendees in anyway he could for the next 12months in Agric.

See, you should have been here!

Omotola Oyebanjo started her session with a disturbing statistics about how only 1% of the population fall under the category of Wealthy in Nigeria. She, however, sought to remedy it by sharing the 5 baby steps to sustainable wealth.

  1. Be Great at something

  2. Start saving consistently

  3. Grow passive income

  4. Cut down on your waste

  5. Start early on your investments

There was a brief question and answer session where the audience got clarity on what was discussed in the first two sessions.

Olorunsheyi Sunday, co-founder of Pertinence Limited owners of ABC and VIP Gardens nationwide, was the next speaker up on stage.

He stated that he became wealthy in 1999, even though he made his first millions much later. Why? according to him, because success is first within. He stated that he had the mindset of a wealthy man even though it wasn’t physically evident.

Olorunsheyi gave four ways to create wealth beyond

  1. Be deliberate about building quality relationships
  2. Find problems and solve. The size of problems you solve is proportional to the wealth you get.

  3. Be innovative

  4. Integrity

A ended with a punchline better than any of MI’s lines. He said,

‘If you lose money, you have lost nothing; if you lose your health, you have lost something; but if you lose integrity, you have lost everything.’ drops mic

There was a powerful spoken words tribute to women by Solar Speaks.

Olawale Ayilara was the nexr speaker to teach us on the secrets to attracting wealth. According to him, for you to be successful, you have to be willing to travel the route no one wants to go.

He also revealed that the easiest way to be successful is to look at people who failed and not do what they did.

‘If you move with 4 people that are rich, you will be the 5th rich person. And if you move with 4 people that are broke, you will be the 5th broke person’ – Olawale Ayilara on association.

Shortly after his session, there was a panel session during which the LandWey CEO talked about his journey to becoming one of the wealthiest real estate investors in the country.

Actress and producer, Blessing Egbe took to the stage in a panel session to talk about the opportunities that abound in Nollywood.

I’m going to give you an insider gist. Blessing Egbe says Nollywood needs VFX editors, male lead, and set managers.
