Steven Gerrard humiliated me—Umar Sadiq

Super Eagles’ forward man, Umar Sadiq didn’t have quite the fluid career despite current club about to command a sale of 30 million Euros for his departure from the club.

In fact, there was a time he played for Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard while at Rangers, and the Nigerian recalls crying at each time over the humiliation he endured.

According to Umar Sadiq, there got to a time the Rangers boss asked him to stop changing with the senior team and instead with the kids.

The Super Eagles international started his career in 2013, and since that time, has signed for 10 clubs before settling in with Almeria.

He was offered to Spezia before being signed by AS Roma on loan, where he didn’t have the privilege of sharing game time with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

Umar Sadiq also had spells with Bologna, Torino and NAC Breda before arriving at Rangers.

It was at Rangers where he clashed with Steven Gerrard according to the player in a recent interview with The Sunday Post.

According to Umar Sadiq:

“Suddenly I was told I couldn’t use the first-team changing room any more. I had to change with the kids and a few days later I was even banned from parking my car inside the sports centre.”

In another interview with Omasport Nigeria, the striker admitted that;

“When I was playing for Rangers I used to go home crying because things were not going well and I could see that my dream was slipping away”.

Ultimately, it was a great year at Partizan that led to his eventual move to Almeria after he scored 17 goals and made 17 assists in 39 appearances.

In his seasons with Almeria, he has scored 20 and 18 goals respectively to help the club gain promotion into the La Liga.

Yet again, the Super Eagles striker looks to be on the move for a record fee of 30 million euros for Almeria.
