Spotify unveils desktop miniplayer for seamless playback control

Published

on

Spotify has introduced a Miniplayer to its desktop app, allowing for quick access to playback controls while multitasking.

The resizable floating window lets users control audio playback, change tracks, select playlists, and adjust volume settings conveniently.

The company has confirmed that the Miniplayer is rolling out to Premium subscribers.

Users can launch it by clicking on a square icon on the lower right side of the app.

The Miniplayer offers versatility, with options for a square window or a thinner bar.

This addition potentially reduces reliance on third-party apps like Alfred Spotify Mini Player.

The Miniplayer has been a highly requested feature since 2019. Initially available to Premium subscribers, it may eventually extend to free plan users.
