Sowore accuses Federal Government of 'political hypocrisy'

Political Activist Omoyele Sowore isn’t taking any prisoners with his latest jab at the Federal Government.

In a social media rant, the activist/publisher of Sahara Reporters accused the Federal Government of secretly splurging $150 million on a luxurious Airbus A330 Presidential Jet, stirring widespread outrage.

Sowore, known for his no-holds-barred activism, shared an image of the opulent aircraft on Instagram, exposing the government’s lavish spending at a time when Nigerians are grappling with economic challenges. According to Sowore, the A330-200 jet, initially named VP-CAC and now registered as 5N-FGA, was not included in the annual budget.

He lambasted the government for prioritizing extravagant expenditures over pressing issues like workers’ minimum wage and student loans. In his post, Sowore highlighted the glaring disparity: while funds are readily available for a high-end private jet and billions for Hajj, ordinary Nigerians struggle to make ends meet.

“While they are telling you to ‘exercise patience,’ @officialasiwajubat already bought a $100m Presidential Jet and configured or reconfigured it with some $50 million, and it is ready for delivery!” Sowore wrote.

“This was not in the annual budget. They can’t pay minimum wage for workers but could afford $150 million for a private jet. Students have to obtain loans to go to college, but they could afford to approve billions for Hajj even as the money ended up being stolen. Fight we MUST! #RevolutionNow.”

Sowore’s explosive claims have sparked a firestorm of criticism on social media, with some behind the political influencer and others, standing in opposition.
