Someone I once helped poisoned me – Mr Ibu reveals

Popular comic actor, John Okafor, best known as Mr. Ibu has revealed that the fellow that poisoned him was someone he was helped some time ago.

The Nollywood actor, Mr. Ibu stated that he has become conscious since the incident that led to him being hospitalized for several weeks in a hospital in Abuja.

Mr. Ibu made such revelation during an interview with The Punch.

This, however, wasn’t the first time the actor made such statement has on several occasions, narrated how he was poisoned in the past by people closest to him.

Mr. Ibu, also said that he became cautious and doubtful of people’s intentions after the occurrence, considering that it was done by someone he helped.

The actor said; “These days, I am usually skeptical because I later found out that it was somebody I had helped in the past (who poisoned me).”

He further added that he is still undergoing treatment in a hospital in Abuja because the Doctors claimed there are still some remnants of the poison in his system.

Mr. Ibu then urged the government to do more in terms of ensuring the safety and security of filmmakers.

In his words;

“If not for God, the result would have been bad. As I speak with you now, I am still being treated somewhere in Guzape, Abuja,”

“I expect the Federal Government to act on this. Whether we like it or not, we (actors) are serving the government. The movies we make are for the benefit of the general public. If the government wants to better protect us, they can do it.
