Soludo begins work as a Governor in Okpoko, Anambra state.

Charles Soludo, the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor taking over from Willie Obiano has been sworn in as the fifth governor of Anambra State in a modest event that took place at the Government House on Thursday. He took the oath of office alongside his deputy, Onyeka Ibezim.

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has landed in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area, a suburb in Anambra State.

Soludo, made one of his first assignments as a Governor a visit to Okpoko. He arrived at about 10 am on Friday, went round various areas inspecting the level of work to be carried out.

The governor, who has sounded it during his campaign and inaugural address, said his administration will kickstart his work in Okpoko.

He expressed dissatisfaction with the level of decadence in Okpoko, promises to begin work immediately.

Traders, who displayed their wares on the roads, on sighting the convoy of the governor, started removing their goods, so as not to annoy the governor.

Meanwhile, Soludo is being expected to visit the St. Lwanga Catholic Church, where various Okpoko community leaders are waiting for him. The governor is expected to address them and round off his visit and address the community.

He is also expected to unfold his agenda for the community during his address.
