Sokoto commissioner for home affairs Abubakar is dead

Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State was on Thursday evening among dignitaries who witnessed the funeral of Alhaji Abdulkadir Jeli Abubakar, erstwhile Commissioner for Home Affairs.
The late commissioner, a scion of the late Sultan Abubakar III of Sokoto and younger brother to current Sultan Muhammad Saad Abubakar, died after a protracted illness at the age of 64.
His death is coming seven months after that of Hon. Surajo Gatawa, who was Commissioner for Lands and Housing.
The deceased who was a Commissioner for Information and National Orientation, in the state is survived by two wives, many children and grand children.
He has since being buried according to Islamic rites.
