SLTV takes DSTV and GOTV place in Nigeria

In Nigeria, the cost of SLTV decoders has sharply risen as demand surges among consumers seeking more affordable alternatives to Multichoice‘s DSTV and GOTV.

On June 17, Onyeka David, an SLTV vendor, reported via Facebook that the company had completely sold out of stock due to overwhelming demand.

Previously priced at N45,000, the SLTV decoder is now back in stock but at an increased price of N35,000, reflecting higher manufacturing costs.

Anoruo Ikenna Kingsley, director of Ikekings Integrated Services and a decoder installer in Owerri, confirmed on July 5 that SLTV decoders are now both scarce and costly.

According to Kingsley, his vendor is selling the SLTV decoder alone for N42,000. This price hike underscores the challenges faced by consumers seeking more affordable television options amidst economic pressures.
