It was a hard one to swallow last night by the Liverpool fans as the Champions League trophy slipped out of their grasps with a 1-0 victory stolen from them by Real Madrid’s Vinicius jr.

It was even harder when they’ve had to struggle to get into the city of Paris from all over the world and from Liverpool, and be treated like dirt at the hands of France Police at the gates of Stade de France.

The incident is one to gives the UEFA Association a slap to the face ahead of the competition as crowd police at the entrance gate of the stadium hosting the final had to wrestle with fans and even go as far teargasing them to deny them entry.

In a disgraceful act, the organizers of the competition, UEFA had to postpone kick off time twice, and even going as far as playing it on fans’ late coming to the stadium when in fact, the fans were at the stadium for hours but had to be kept in queues or even denied entrance into the venue.

A lack of control of the situation, and pro activeness, saw anxious fans trying to force in their way into the stadium with conflict ensuing in the process, with fans having to be treated as hostiles.

Former Liverpool player, manager and Legend reacted on the issue on twitter, calling out the authorities and the way the organizers acted in setting up the piece.

“The Liverpool fans are special. The way they were treated by authorities was an absolute joke. Nobody should ever be afraid to go to a football game. Thank you to everyone who came to Paris. The Fan Park was unbelievable. I hope you all get home safe. What a season! YNWA”

The former number 7 wrote in quote.

Liverpool have launched a formal investigation and query on UEFA and the incident as a whole.
