Simi, Seyi Law, Adekunle Gold and Others lend their voices to the #EndSARS
“With great power, comes great responsibility” – Spiderman
Apparently, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) do not respect the words of my childhood hero. In fact, I hear they don’t respect much of anything, especially youths with laptops.
Rumours of the SARS brutality and abuse of power have been trending on social media, with the youths clamouring for the disbandment of the SARS with the #EndSARS.
A number of celebrities have also taken to their social media to lend their voices to the protests and share their experiences at the hands of these men who are supposed to protect us.
Simi said she had a gun pointed at her and her friends for laughing, and Seyi Law recounts having his artisans arrested and SARS officers threatening to shoot at him.

People are not supposed to be afraid of the people that are supposed to be looking after us. A couple weeks ago, at almost midnight, my friends and I had a gun pointed at us for laughing. For laughing.
#EndSARS#ActuallyTakeGunsAwayFromTriggerHappyPeopleWhoHideBehindTheUniform!Their boss had to talk him down! Pointing a gun at 3 ladies because of your insecurities is incredibly frightening! Policemen need to be mentally evaluated and checked before being handed guns. And they need to be accountable!! Otherwise, they can get away with anything.
#EndSARS
