#SilhouetteChallenge: Mercy Chinwo pens touching letter to ladies
Mercy Chinwo, Nigerian Gospel singer, has written and shared an open letter to all the women out there, condemning the viral x-rated silhouette challenge.
The viral Silhouette Challenge features women strip dancing to Doja Cat‘s 2019 song, Streets under red lights permitting viewers to see the silhouettes of their unclad bodies.
Some men, especially young men, are going absolutely nuts over it and some have joined the seductive challenge, while others featured their partners.
The Nigerian reality star, Mercy Eke also joined the fray; and posted a video of her challenge on her social media pages.
However, via her verified Instagram page, Mercy Chinwo urged women to carry themselves with dignity and not follow every trend online like the Silhouette challenge.
She also asked women to desist from imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around them.
She wrote, “Dear women, you don’t have to follow every trend. Carry thyself with dignity, know your worth.. this is why you are different,” she wrote.
“Let your light so shine before men so that they may see your good works (Lifestyle, character) and glorify your Father in heaven.. #ISTANDAGAINSTSILHOUTTECHALLENGE.”
“Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you. But be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes. Romans 12:2.”
This is coming few days after a renowned clergyman, Pastor Adeboye strongly advised against consuming nude visuals online.
