Shock U-turn: Man United makes U-turn on Ten Hag decision

Manchester United has decided to keep Harry Maguire in their squad for the upcoming 2024/25 season, despite reports hinting he is part of the list of transfers Erik ten Hag wants out of the club.

Under the guidance of Erik ten Hag, who recently signed a new contract, the club has made significant additions, including Leny Yoro for £52 million and Joshua Zirkzee for £35 million.

While the likes of Mason Greenwood, Donny van de Beek, and Willy Kambwala are set to leave, and Antony is linked with a shock exit, Maguire’s future had been in question. Rumors swirled about a potential move to Everton as part of United’s pursuit of Jarrad Branthwaite.

However, sources, including insider Mellisa Reddy, have confirmed that the 31-year-old centre-back will remain at Old Trafford.

Maguire, who has been a staple in United’s defense since his £80 million transfer from Leicester City in 2019, featured in 31 matches last season, with 21 appearances in the league. He has expressed his desire to continue contributing to the club’s success, stating, “Until I get told you’re up for sale or we want you to leave, I want to play for this club and make it successful again.”

Currently part of the squad’s pre-season tour in the United States, Maguire is gearing up for another season with the Red Devils, eager to build on his 206-game tenure. His commitment to the club remains strong, as he looks forward to the challenges ahead with Manchester United.
