Shettima meets parents of kidnapped students

Vice President Kashim Shettima has convened a crucial meeting with the representatives of families of abducted students and community leaders from the Kuriga community in Kaduna State, following the recent kidnapping of over 280 students from LEA Primary School and Government Secondary School in Kuriga, Chikun Local Government Area.

The meeting, held on Saturday at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna, aimed to address the grave situation and reassure the affected families and community of the government’s commitment to rescuing the abducted students.

In his address, Vice President Shettima assured the attendees of President Tinubu’s directive to security agencies to spare no effort in ensuring the safe return of the abducted children.

He emphasized the President’s personal concern over the incident and highlighted ongoing communications between President Tinubu and the Governor of Kaduna State regarding rescue efforts.

Expressing gratitude for the media’s role in reporting the incident, Shettima urged for circumspection in their coverage, emphasizing the sensitivity of the matter and the need to prioritize the well-being of the abducted children.

“On behalf of President Bola Tinubu, I extend heartfelt sympathy to the affected families and community,” Vice President Shettima conveyed.

“Rest assured, the President is fully committed to securing the lives and property of all citizens. He has mobilized the entire security apparatus to ensure the safe return of our children.”
