Shehu Sani accuses Ex-governor El-Rufai of marginalizing Southern Kaduna
Former Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has criticized former Governor Nasir El-Rufai for marginalizing the Southern Kaduna people throughout his eight-year tenure. Sani accused El-Rufai of relegating the Southern Kaduna community to a subservient status and neglecting their involvement in state affairs.
During a Sallah dinner with family and friends, Sani addressed the alleged misappropriation of N423 billion under El-Rufai’s administration. He emphasized that the Southern Kaduna populace resisted El-Rufai’s government steadfastly, in contrast to Zones two and three, whose residents, according to Sani, supported El-Rufai despite the alleged corruption.
Sani urged the public to support the State House of Assembly Ad’hoc committee investigating the alleged diversion of funds, emphasizing the committee’s need for community backing and prayers to ensure a thorough and focused investigation.
He pointed out that accusations of malfeasance should not be directed at Governor Uba Sani, who merely signed the loan, but at those who misappropriated the funds. Sani argued that without this investigation, the extent of the financial misconduct in Kaduna State would have remained hidden.
Highlighting the adverse impacts of El-Rufai’s governance, Sani noted the demolition of homes, mass dismissal of civil servants, and the widespread suffering of Kaduna State’s residents. He stressed that this fight against corruption is a collective responsibility of all citizens in the state, not just the government.
