Serie A side rejects Barcelona player
Gone were the days when Barcelona players leaving the club were highly sought after by European clubs as this current time has seen the club fall behind in almost everything.
It is a typical case of how the mighty have fallen.
The latest reports sees out of favor FC Barcelona midfielder, Riqui Puig being rejected by Italian club, Fiorentina as the club’s sporting director makes it clear that they have no interests in the player.
The 22 year old faced a tough time in the club in recent seasons and has fallen far down the pecking order in the midfield ranking with little to no hope of game time.
The midfielder saw just 17 appearances in all competitions last season with his move away from the club edging ever closer as he searches for game time.
Italian Serie A side, Fiorentina have been linked with the Spaniard for some time until its club director, Dianele Prade came out to debunk said links.
“We are not interested in Riqui Puig, he’s never been in our list. We wanted to sign Grillitsch but then we had some problems”. Prade said
“We’re in negotiations for Jović from Real Madrid, we hope to close the deal soon – and Dodô from Shakhtar”. He added.
Riqui Puig and Barcelona would probably be hoping some other suitor comes in the wind for the Player before the transfer window shuts on the player.
Considering his lack of game time in Barcelona, it seems quite the race against time to save his career and also see him gain game time.
